As a Software Engineer, you will strive to deliver quality and timely implementations to satisfy business requirements. Working with a motivated team, you will play important roles in developing our next-generation micro-service-based platform, which serves millions of users on our auction.com marketplace.Responsibilities/Duties:Develop API implementations based on business requirementsCollaborate with front-end and mobile developers on the integration of elementsMaintain and support existing backend systemsParticipate in team planning and provide input for requirement definitionsWork with QA and SRE to manage timely delivery of features to productionParticipate in day-to-day agile development activitiesKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Excellent knowledge in Java/KotlinDemonstrated ability on implementation of API supporting high throughput and high concurrencyUnderstanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workaroundsExcellent knowledge on Database and SQLExcellent troubleshooting skills for efficient bug fixing and code maintenanceDemonstrated skill in using coding standards and being an active participant in code reviewsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability working with remote teamsKnowledge of NOSQL databases desiredRequired Qualifications:B.S. Degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical disciplineAt least three years' experience as a JVM-focused developerAt least five years’ backend development experienceExperience in maintaining and migrating legacy systems to newer architecture desiredPreferred Qualifications:Understanding of Java microservice applications and ecosystemPrevious experience developing GraphQL APIsHands-on experience with event-based system processing such as KafkaBasic understanding of front-end technologies and Full-stack experience is a plusTo all recruitment agencies: Auction.com does not accept agency resumes unless you are part of our preferred partner network.
