Overview:
Primary duties will be in the support of Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) supporting the design, plan, test, implementation, and sustainment of an Enterprise network micro-segmentation software application solution. This is a security solution that divides a network into smaller, isolated segments to enhance security and reduce the attack surface.
Responsibilities:
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for hardware and software to ensure optimal performance of IT systems. This role involves promptly diagnosing and resolving user-reported issues, planning and analyzing work processes to enhance support services, and identifying areas for improvement through proactive measures. The specialist develops training materials and conducts sessions to enhance end-users' understanding of computing and information systems while maintaining problem tracking databases to monitor incidents and their resolutions. Additionally, they perform backup and recovery operations to safeguard data integrity, consult with users to assess needs and requirements, conduct feasibility studies, and prepare business cases for system improvements. Adhering strictly to information security and cybersecurity policies, the specialist also supports DLA’s eProcurement system(s) by providing user assistance and troubleshooting for related software solutions.
Required Experience:
Six (6) years of progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, three (3) of which are specialized in Information Processing and involve a range of hardware/software solutions, two (2) of which are concentrated, hands-on experience in installing, diagnosing problems, and training customers in the use of software and hardware.
Certification Requirements:
Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II or IAT III (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security + CE, or SSCP).At least one of the following:CCSA, Check Point Certified Systems AdministratorCCSE, Check Point Certified Systems EngineerCCNA, CISCO Certified Networking AssociateCCNP, CISCO Certified Network ProfessionalCCIE, CISCO Certified Internetwork ExpertIllumio Core Specialist or ExpertAWS (Certified Solutions Architect, Security, SysOps Admin)Azure (Certified Admin)Microsoft (Certified Architect SQL, Windows Master, Expert, Associate, IT Professional Admin)
