Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Systems Software Application Developer to join our dynamic team in support of NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) projects. As a developer, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, reviewing, testing, and maintaining various tools and algorithms. This role involves collaborating with a large system engineering and analysis team to establish necessary infrastructure, processes, and software engineering discipline for the seamless execution of complex end-to-end simulations and analyses.
Job Responsibilities:
Support GDS development, test, and day-to-day operations.
Comprehend and write Java code.
Comprehend vector mathematics.
Automated planning and scheduling concepts.
Support GDS end users.
Support software system process activities.
Conduct system level testing of the GDS software, manual and/or automated.
Contribute to team documentation, including training guides.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline with a minimum of 3-8 years of related experience.
Experience with software architecture practices and extensive experience in the integration and deployment of large scale and highly complex software systems.
Produce quality products through prioritization.
Experience with a coding/scripting language(s), preferably Java, Python, or shell scripts.
Experience working with software configuration management tools (such as GIT, SVN, AccuRev, CVS, JIRA).
Communications and interpersonal skills including writing and reviewing technical operations documentation.
Work with internal and external program stakeholders, as well as subcontractor teams.
An active and in-scope TS/SCI U.S. security clearance.
Desired Requirements:
Master’s or Doctorate degree in a related STEM preferred field.
JPL, NASA, or DoD practices and standards.
Comprehend vector mathematics.
Automated planning and scheduling concepts.
