The work we do here matters.Department OverviewAs Director of Responsible Technology at Motorola Solutions, you will drive the policies and lead the programs that ensure the company's technologies are developed and deployed responsibly. You will be a critical member of Motorola Solutions legal team, reporting into the Corporate Vice President, Global Products, Channels & Intellectual Property Legal, and will work closely with the CTO Artificial Intelligence team, the Motorola Technology Advisory Committee, as well as product leaders across Motorola Solutions. Motorola Solutions' portfolio includes a variety of command center software, video security, access control and other security products through a number of leading brands including Avigilon, Pelco, Vigilant, Watchguard and Rave Mobile Safety - AI powers an important and expanding portion of the analytics across our applications.Job Description Overview:The Director of Responsible Technology will work hand in hand with our product leaders to increase transparency of our products and build guardrails into our solutions in a way that ensures the safety of our products matches the fast pace of our innovation. You will manage a small but growing team of professionals focused on ensuring our AI systems are developed and deployed in a manner that aligns with our values, improves the customer experience, and meets evolving regulatory standards. You will also be a leading voice internally and externally on matters of Responsible Technology within public safety and enterprise security.Key Responsibilities:Responsible AI Framework:
Develop and maintain technology policies, guidelines, and processes that promote the ethical development and deployment of AI and other advanced technologies.Thought Leadership:
Serve as an expert and educator to the broader organization around AI regulation and best practices for the responsible development of our products and safe deployment of our solutions to end users.AI Governance:
Manage the governance approach and compliance processes that guide the use of AI in our products, ensuring the organization meets the requirements of the evolving regulatory landscape.Technology Oversight:
Help build and lead our internal apparatus around oversight of AI and our other technologies, such as the Motorola Solutions Technology Advisory Committee.External Engagement:
Be a voice in the emerging dialogue around the responsible use of AI and other applications within public safety and enterprise security. Collaborate with external organizations (e.g. serving as a representative to the U.S. Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute and NIST), industry partners, customers and regulators to define the broader direction of responsible AI practices and standards.Qualifications:Strong understanding of AI technologies, both generative and traditional, and their potential ethical and safety challenges.Excellent communication and collaboration skills and comfort engaging externally on behalf of the organization.Excellent problem-solving skills, sound judgment and decision-making skills within the context of a fast-paced and high stakes business.Ability to independently build frameworks and develop an agenda for a complex organizational transformation project, and then manage teams toward the execution of those objectives.Additional background that may be positively considered:Juris Doctorate or other advanced degree in a relevant subject area.Professional certifications in AI ethics or governance, as well as data privacy.Experience in policy advocacy and engagement with external stakeholders in AI and/or privacy related fields.Experience in public safety and/or video and physical security markets.Note: Candidate may reside anywhere in the US.#LI-RH1 #LI-REMOTEBasic Requirements:Bachelor's or...
