Wave Life Sciences is looking for a Lab systems support co-op. In this role, the co-op will interact with lab personnel, learn directly from IT and business staff, and leverage our unique business practices while taking on various assignments.

The Lab Systems Support co-op will use troubleshooting skills as they work closely with lab personnel and help with system issues arising in the lab. They will also need to have attention to details and strong technical understanding of computer systems and how they are used in operating lab systems.

The Lab Systems Support co-op will work with Wave IT Technical Specialist to learn about lab systems that are operated at Wave. The co-op will leverage the help desk system to organize support requests, troubleshoot, and resolve any technical issues with lab computers. The co-op will also help create and enhance documentation and knowledge base around upkeep and maintenance of lab systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide day-to-day services towards IT support of lab systems,

Participate in Wave IT projects and programs,

Support the IT Technical Specialist and the IT operations team.

Gain knowledge of the IT Department technologies and procedures.

Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from senior IT Team members in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.

Assist team members by performing tasks necessary to support lab systems as well as build foundational skills and knowledge.

Assist with ticket management and resolution.

Effectively communicate with the customers, manager, mentors, and team members on the status of work. Ask relevant questions and listen attentively with patience as part of communication.

Utilize Service Now application to coordinate support activities.

Knowledge Base (KB) documentation creation and updates.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Enrolled in a Computer Science or a related field bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college/university.

A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.

Strong Windows OS background.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Must be well-organized and have the ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Able to take direction needed to resolve incidents quickly and effectively.

Able to complete routine tasks independently over time. This includes gaining the functional, technical, and problem-solving skills needed to complete assignments.
