SummaryThe Senior IT QA Automation Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through meticulous testing and analysis in a multi-product microservice architecture. This role leads testing efforts by designing, implementing, and executing test plans, test cases, and test automation frameworks in an Agile and CI-powered environment. The Senior IT QA Automation Tester identifies software issues, collaborates with development teams to resolve bugs, and ensures the final product meets both functional and non-functional requirements, such as performance, security, and scalability. Reports to Quality Manager. Interacts with Quality Lead, IT Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Security, Developers and Business Users for Projects.Essential FunctionsDevelop Quality Scope/StrategyDevelop test cases in a timely mannerExecute test cases and evaluate results against expected resultsRetest resolved defects on each release and maintain test cases and documentationParticipation in Quality reviews and validation of requirements, architecture diagrams, acceptance criteria and other related documents.Produce all required project documentation related to the Quality activities in accordance with the Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE)Development and Training of Ryder’s TCOEAssist Quality Manager and Quality Lead with enhancements to current methodologySubject matter experts for Quality process and tools usedAdditional ResponsibilitiesAssist with development of Quality Strategy and scopeAssist with Quality Project Plan & Budget DevelopmentEstablishing appropriate quality gatesPrepares and gives presentations related to Quality activities to business users and project teamGather project requirements and specifications from vendors, project managers and end-usersOversee project test planning and executionCoordinating all testing efforts including the setup and use of testing environmentParticipates, as required, in a hands-on role, contributing with his/her technical/functional expertiseEnsuring that releases adhere to established quality standards and measurementsTracking project workload and ensuring that projects adhere to proposed scheduleCommunicating project status to all appropriate and interested partiesAnticipating and addressing project obstaclesRecognizing and communicating individual and team contributionsCoordinates and participates in post-implementation reviewsLiaison with application or customer verticals, product teams on a regular basis to ensure that upcoming work is plannedPerform or assist with planning, development and execution of test automationPerform or assist with planning, development and execution of performance testFoster the team environment through active, hands-on participation and through coaching and mentoringEncourage sharing of ideas and consideration of all viewpoints among the team membersProvide challenge & direction to the team to help achieve high performanceReview/Validation of team member test cases and test results as neededReviews compliance with current standards and proceduresIdentifying, improving, and implementing standards for QualityAssist team members on best practicesQuality productivity and testing toolsMaintenance of Quality Tools as neededProvide team with quality techniques and toolSkills and AbilitiesExcellent documentation and communication skills.
