Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with Economists, Applied Scientists, Engineers, and business line customers across the company to build consensus.Design mechanisms to drive consistent execution, tracking, reporting and escalation for STLs and SDMs within the organization.Represent, verbally and in writing, complex decisions, tough trade-offs, and potential solutions clearly to leaders to help them understand the decisions they have to make and what options they have.Own and deliver QBRs and Operational Plans while influencing organizational priorities, system owners, business, and technology direction.Manage cross-functional and cross-product communication to ensure all stakeholders are informed and needs aligned.Recognize when current programs are susceptible to prior failure patterns and actively steer leadership to avoid repeating these failures.Know when a design or solution requires additional technical guidance (e.g., from senior engineers or subject matter experts).Demonstrate excellent judgment in driving executive-level escalations.Deliver solutions that meet Amazon high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, stability, extensibility, simplicity, and operational excellence.Amplify your impact by educating the TPM and engineering communities on program management best practices.About the Team
The People eXperience and Technology (PXT) Central Science Team uses economics, behavioral science, statistics, and machine learning to proactively identify mechanisms, process improvements and products, which simultaneously improve Amazon and the lives, wellbeing, and the value of work of Amazonians. We are an interdisciplinary team which combines the talents of science and engineering to develop and deliver solutions that measurably achieve this goal. We invest in innovation and rapid prototyping of scientific models, AI/ML technologies and software solutions to accelerate informed, accurate, and reliable decision backed by science and data.Minimum Requirements
10+ years of technical product or program management experienceExperience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedulesExperience working directly with engineering teamsExperience owning/driving vision and execution of ML productsExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex model results to non-technical stakeholdersProven track record of successfully launching a portfolio of products.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.Strong understanding of machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analytics.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
