This position will support our Trachte facility in Madison, WI. As a part of nVent, Trachte is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered metal buildings for industrial and commercial applications. Today, nVent connects and protects our customers with inventive electrical solutions. We design, manufacture, market, install and service high performance products and solutions for mission-critical equipment, buildings and essential processes. Offering both prefabricated and on-site building capabilities, framed and frameless building construction types, and products ranging from build kits and modular units to fully engineered integrated buildings.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
The Application Engineer is the technical Domain Expert for the Trachte/Parkline sales team and includes participation in internal proposal strategy meetings and various customer communications including: key customer facing discussions, technical clarifications and solution development. The goal of this role is to drive optimal solutions for customers and nVent helping to drive sales and profitability.
Review RFP, specifications, email communications and drawings (structural and electrical single line diagrams) to determine solution and product compliance including preliminary HVAC sizing, lighting calculations, battery calculations and weight estimates.
Provide selling support through technical assistance to customers, sales managers, engineering and estimating including completion of datasheets to define estimating inputs.
Provide technical expertise, and participate in meetings including customer visits and presentations, proposal clarification meetings, and project kick off meetings.
Review quotes for technical compliance and accuracy.
Develop proposal documents and customer value propositions including equipment layout/drawings and be able to present these to customers.
Support new product development, product introductions and product improvements.
Analyze and communicate product development needs internally to Trachte/Parkline/nVent teams.
PERFORMANCE, METRICS & REPORTING
Delivery of solutions for complex situations or problems without guidance or supervision specifically in the areas of electrical equipment (Relay Panels, Switchgear, UPS, Battery Backup, etc) and other related equipment that may be integrated into enclosures including (servers, communications, sensors, etc).
Ability to provide technical solutions built around customer needs and Trachte/Parkline product offerings/capabilities.
Collaboration with project handover meetings with project managers and engineers.
Ability to expand comfort zone to build skills in other/new integrated equipment offerings.
YOU HAVE:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience in electrical infrastructure market in a technical role.
Experience with LV/MV Switchgear, Relay Panels, UPS, MCC, VFD, etc equipment to support electrical infrastructure.
Skilled at creating drawing layouts.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and operate efficiently with multiple priorities.
Skilled at product presentations, written and oral communications skills and strong technical aptitude of related equipment.
Superior customer service and follow-up.
Position is open to remote candidates.
Occasional travel may be required.
