This Staff Cyber Systems Engineer position is for a Ground Cyber Architect for a complex space system where you will provide Subject Matter Expertise enabling greater application agility among on-premises computing environments and customer-provided cloud-hosted infrastructures.
You will be responsible for designing the cybersecurity elements of the ground subsystem and related Mission-Unique Software. This position requires extensive experience with software security assurance, secure coding best practices, establishing security quality metrics, remediation of software weaknesses, and secure deployment of application software for both on-premises and customer cloud computing applications.
You will coordinate internal/external stakeholder Cyber/SSE requirements, development status, milestones, and deliverables. Exceptional customer intimacy skills are essential. You will also coordinate multi-disciplinary activities across multiple overlapping threads and engineering specialties.
Additional Responsibilities for a Staff Ground Cyber Architect:
Working as a programmatic lead in a structured engineering environment.
Negotiating security responsibilities with external IAAS & PAAS providers.
Deep understanding of virtualization technologies with emphasis on cloud computing environments.
Developing security-focused assessment procedures for application containers and container orchestration environments.
Connecting systems and subsystems having different security classification levels using approved Cross Domain Solutions.
Leading Cyber/SSE element technical presentations during engineering milestone reviews.
Project management experience, including experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).
Supervise C/SSA processes to ensure Static Code Analysis tool(s) are integrated into ground software development environments.
Defining programmatic Cyber guidance for software development scrum teams.
Ensuring multi-disciplinary teams are remediating security tool findings.
Understanding of Space/Ground interface control documents.
Leading other Cyber/SSE personnel in the development of program CDRLs.
Ensuring systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies.
Championing automation efforts across all DevSecOps disciplines.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in STEM field with 14 years of experience (or Masters with 12 yrs, or PhD with 9 yrs).
14 years IT security (Cybersecurity) experience in support of USG.
9 years technical leadership experience.
Must have U.S. Citizenship, with active TS/SCI clearance at time of application.
CISSP Certification.
Demonstrated experience with Space Ground Architectures.
Demonstrated experience with RMF and Splunk.
Familiarity with Systems Engineering processes and milestones.
Commitment to working on-site, inside restricted office spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
15 years Cyber/SSE experience in the Defense Aerospace Industry.
5 years experience working within restricted program areas.
Formal EVMS project management training with CAM experience.
Demonstrated engineering leadership experience participating in Systems Engineering milestone reviews.

Salary Range:
$165,000 - $247,400. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers.
