The Senior Bioinformatics Research Scientist performs data analysis, data visualization, statistical analysis, experimental design, database development, mathematical modeling, and novel method development. Provides bioinformatics analysis for investigators and communicates analytical process and results. The lab of Jeremy Chase Crawford in the Department of Host-Microbe Interactions is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Bioinformatics Research Scientist focused on Integrative Analysis. This position will work at the cross-section of immunology, development of next-generation and multi-omic molecular methods, and integrative analytics to better our understanding of childhood immune development, immune perturbation from disease and treatment, and host-pathogen interactions. As a key stakeholder in these efforts, you will utilize your expertise in molecular, cellular, and computational biology to advance a multi-disciplinary and highly collaborative research program. One major focus of analysis will be on large NGS datasets obtained from single-cell approaches, with a particular emphasis on aligning data obtained from in-house R&D efforts to in-house generated gold-standard datasets; in that regard, you will work closely with wet lab scientists to design experiments, generate data, and develop and apply pipelines for rapid validation of novel molecular assays. Another key responsibility will be leading the integration and interpretation of multi-modal data (e.g., single-cell and bulk gene expression, single-cell and bulk proteomics, and genotypes) in close collaboration with research stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and detail-oriented with an interest in immunology, integrative biology, molecular assay development, and computational research infrastructure.
