Our client is one of the Southeast's largest and most highly regarded consulting structural engineering firms. Based on current and projected growth in TN, they are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to help lead the structural design and management of varied structures across multiple sectors including, but not limited to, commercial, public, and industrial. We are a high-performance firm, and we are continually seeking self-motivated, client-focused team members suited to our unique culture.EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:Designs load-bearing structures, structural elements, or structural systems for a variety of project types, in a variety of industries such as manufacturing, distribution, data centers, commercial, towers, signs, historical, public sector, adaptive reuse, and renovations.Performs analysis of existing structures.Develops drawings or specifications for use during construction and ensures all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations.Designs structural systems for a variety of project types, including medical, manufacturing, schools, distribution centers, adaptive re-use & renovations, as well as existing facility analysis.Performs structural analysis using various modeling software.Prepares structural documents/studies for review by senior engineer per QA/QC guidelines.Coordinates information across all disciplines to ensure deliverables are compliant with client expectations and structural group’s quality levels.Identifies applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions and applies them to the project.Produces drawings for Revit designer personnel or self-perform as required.Reviews shop drawings for compliance with structural drawings.Performs existing facility analysis and site reviews.Participates in ‘fee-based proposal’ development or in preparing assigned technical components of RFI responses.Assists in site investigations to determine cause of structural failures, damages, and defects.Writes investigation and field visit reports.Learns to engage with potential clients to expand business relationships.Interacts with higher level engineers and design technicians efficiently.Attends client, architect, and contractor meetings.Shares information across all disciplines to ensure deliverables are compliant with client expectations and established organizational quality standards.Supervision:Team LeaderMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum BS degree in civil/structural engineering, MS degree preferred.PE or SE license.7+ years of experience in structural engineering.Experience should include steel and concrete design in low to mid-rise structures with both shallow & deep foundation systems.Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, RISA, Bentley (RAM) products, EnerCalc, etc.Strong knowledge of MS Excel, MathCAD, or other programming experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Unique experience in specialty structures is a plus.Revit experience a plus.Post-tension concrete experience a plus.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as presented.Strong communication skills are required.Effective in an entrepreneurial culture, working independently and as part of a team.
