Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for an Engineer Software – Software Applications Test Engineer (24-400 & 24-401) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations and manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.
As a member of the Regional Applications Agile Release Train (ART) of the Missile Defense National Team for C2BMC, this position will participate in software design and peer reviews, develop test specifications and infrastructure, execute manual and automated tests, and perform analysis of C2BMC implementation in an integrated environment.
Essential Functions:
Possess knowledge and limited experience in testing and evaluating a software-intensive system in various test environments, utilizing Agile development.
Requires a strong, self-starting individual capable of diving into problems with assistance from other test engineers and software developers.
Occasional travel between Colorado Springs facilities/sites and Huntsville, AL, is expected.
Basic Qualifications:
An active Secret clearance is required to start.
2 years' experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; 0 years' experience with a master’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field.
Test knowledge and experience.
Knowledge of an Agile development process.
Automated testing for requirement verification and performance assessment.
Conducting post-processing and analysis of collected data.
Documenting software deficiency reports.
Must possess strong verbal/written communication skills to work effectively in a small technical team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
DoD 8140 certification at
IAT Level II or higher
is highly desired.
Knowledge in a DevSecOps environment is extremely desirable.
