What You'll Be DoingPlan and design significant portions of a control systemWork with project team to develop the scope of a project including defining how the control system should work, defining the reports/documentation, defining the screens/graphics, and defining the type of startup support neededEnsure proper testing and documentation of significant portions of a control systemProvide configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of HMI/PC/PLC hardware and software, and customer networks at customer's sitePerform in-house and in-plant customer operator training for the control systemDevelop programming standards and ensure team complianceCoach and train other Interstates employees on the teamPerform technical design, code reviews, and help in estimating pricing for projectsOther duties may be assigned.Qualifications
Knowledge and Expertise for this RoleBachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) from four-year college or university with an emphasis in Computer Studies or some branch of Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, etc.) or Associate's degree (A.A., A.S.) from a two-year community college or technical school with an emphasis in Computer Studies or Instrumentation and Controls preferred.Or equivalent combination of education and related experience/trainingExperience in programming in the Industrial Environment, implementing Industrial Control Software (Startup), and experience in dealing with customers regarding system requirementsExperience with object-oriented programming, user interface development, database systems, and system integrationPreferred skills or industry knowledgeValue-add Ag such as: Ethanol, Seed Oil, PetfoodFood & BevContinuous ProcessBenefits You Can Depend OnIn addition to highly competitive pay and quality benefits, Interstates strives to offer opportunities for education and career development, empowering you to have a career that's built to last.
