We are seeking a highly experienced

Network and Security Chief Architect

to lead the design, development, and implementation of network and security infrastructures for high-profile government and defense programs. This role requires deep expertise in network architecture, cybersecurity, and systems engineering across complex environments, with a focus on scalability, security, and performance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in large enterprise-level projects, including military networks and healthcare systems.ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Engineering Project Leadership : Manage the Enterprise Engineering Project for a government customer, overseeing end-to-end architecture and network security systems.Network Architect : Serve as the architect for military base network infrastructures, including the design and deployment of Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and Information Assurance (IA) front door network security systems.Senior Network Engineer : Lead the engineering and design of network and security solutions for the Defense Health Agency (DHA), including enterprise LAN, WAN, and cybersecurity infrastructure.Research and Development : Contribute to the evaluation, testing, and integration of new technologies and products across the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) and medical sectors. Develop and establish enterprise-level security standards for military networks.Vendor Collaboration : Work with leading vendors such as Citrix, Riverbed, F5, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, and others to design and deploy secure network infrastructures.Advanced Redundancy Designs : Architect resilient network solutions utilizing spanning-tree VLAN load balancing, HSRP, VRRP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and more to ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.System Administration : Configure and administer servers (Windows, Linux, Solaris), directory services (Active Directory, LDAP), databases (SQL, Oracle), and various security systems.Programming and Scripting : Develop automation and scripting solutions using PHP, Perl, Shell scripting, VB, and other languages to optimize network processes.VPN Management : Design, deploy, and troubleshoot one of the world's largest VPN networks, ensuring global, secure communication.Technical Documentation and Training : Develop technical documentation, including user guides and troubleshooting manuals, and provide formal training to junior engineers on new network security solutions.Requirements10+ years of experience in network and security architecture, with expertise in military or government environments.Extensive experience with network infrastructure design and security, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and IA systems.Strong knowledge of industry-leading networking and security products and vendors.Ability to lead large-scale engineering teams and manage complex technical projects.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder presentations.Ability to obtain a TS clearance.8570 certification compliance.PreferredCertifications such as CCIE, CISSP, or similar are highly preferred.Prior experience supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA).Experience working with international networks and VPN infrastructure.Strong background in cybersecurity, risk management, and information assurance.
