In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the operations of multi-user computer systems, virtual computer systems, and COTS software products. Your expertise in system administration will be utilized within the program's scope. If you are a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator looking for an exciting opportunity to take on a challenging role, we encourage you to apply for this position.What you'll doMonitor and address system performance issues to ensure optimal operation.Perform tasks such as file backups and restores, system and operating software patching, and maintenance of software licenses.Collaborate with Information Assurance teams to manage accounts, address system vulnerabilities, and respond to security issues/incidents.Work closely with customers and peers to accomplish assigned responsibilities effectively.Provide on-the-job training on system configuration to team members.Support special projects as assigned.Aid operational crews and contractor teams in resolving system and network issues.Assist the IA team by providing access to system logs, instructions for monitoring user accounts, and identifying/responding to security issues/incidents.QualificationsExtensive experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) installation, configuration, and administration.Proficiency in supporting database applications, including SQL and PostgreSQL.Administration experience on Microsoft Server platforms.Familiarity with IBM Advance Interactive eXecutive (AIX) Unix Systems.Experience with IaaS virtualization platforms such as VMWare or OpenStack.Configuration automation experience using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.Experience with Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI).Preferred QualificationsExperience working in DevOps or DevSecOps environments.Certification or proven experience using VMWare products.Linux+, MCSE, or equivalent systems administration certifications highly desirable.
