Job Responsibilities
Perform data processing operations (retrieve, deliver, sort, and categorize) according to a business production schedulePerform backup procedures to reduce the risk of data lossIdentify and correct file and system errorsInstall, configure, and troubleshoot/diagnose issues with software and operating systemsInstall/replace computer and server componentsSet up, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, and peripherals for new employeesDiagnose and troubleshoot desktop and hardware issues and perform machine recoveryPerform periodic maintenance and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and securityPerform periodic maintenance and repairs at offsite data center to include configuring servers, installing operating systems, moving hardware, and running network cablesCollaborate with team members to meet data business production timelinesCollaborate with team member and manager to resolve technical issues in a timely mannerRequirementsMust have solid working knowledge of LinuxComprehensive understanding of TCP/IP models, operating systems, device drivers, and network switchesAble to read and edit a script in a Linux environmentAble to install, work with, and troubleshoot/diagnose issues with software and operating systems (various versions of Windows and Linux)Able to assemble/replace computer and server components such as hard drives, memory, CPU, and graphic cards on desk- and laptopsAble to troubleshoot computer/server hardware issuesUnderstanding of hard drive mirroring and RAID LevelsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAble to work independently, but also know when to seek management supportOccasional work outside of normal business hours and at company’s data centerAble to lift 50 lbs.ExperienceBachelor’s degree and two years of experience in a similar role
