Purpose

Operate a 14 passenger, 26' shuttle and be responsible for providing a world-class experience and safe transportation of passengers to and from the Airport terminal and parking facilities. Major Responsibilities

Operates shuttle in a safe manner, using defensive driving techniques, while driving customers to and from the Airport terminal and parking facilities. Assist passengers as needed when entering and exiting the shuttle, to include operation of specialized equipment for assisting passenger with special needs (wheelchair lifts/ramps and tie-downs). Perform pre- and post-inspection activities to ensure proper operating conditions, adherence to airport standards, and compliance with proper safety and maintenance standards. Use two-way radio to interact and communicate professionally with the office and/or supervisor. Provide team-oriented efforts including fueling and cleaning shuttle and staff vehicles daily. Provide excellent internal and external customer service; this includes greeting each customer in a welcoming manner and cooperating with team members. Demonstrate knowledge of the facility and Airport terminals to answer inquiries about parking rates and available services. Provide passengers with lot location and educate passenger where to catch the shuttle upon their return to the Airport. Maintain alertness and be observant of surrounding activity and take appropriate action if needed. Perform assigned snow removal duties during winter operation. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license for at least 3 years with a clean and safe driving record. Previous customer service experience highly preferred. Knowledge/Skills

Deliver excellent internal and external customer service. Work as a contributing member of the team. Read, write, speak, and understand English. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Present in a professional manner and with excellent interpersonal skills in order to establish effective working relationships with others. Capable of being trained to operate specialized equipment. Ability to work flexible shifts/hours (days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays), including peak volume periods, and vacated shifts. Ability to work independently and with supervision. Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with customers, co-workers, supervisors, managers, etc. Physical Requirements

Requires the ability to lift, carry, push and pull objects up to 50 pounds. Job functions require sitting for extended periods with intermittent climbing, standing, and walking; frequent lifting, carrying, bending, and reaching; occasional stooping and kneeling. Able to move about facilities & all areas of responsibility in shuttle vehicles. Ability to read small print. Ability to see distance for driving. Able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Ability to continuously exchange information through listening and talking with customers, coworkers, and other individuals required. Security/Safety Requirements Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport security badge as a condition of employment. Must have a current, valid driver's license free of serious or frequent traffic violations. This is a safety sensitive position. Supplemental Information

Regular contact with general public, co-workers, and management. WORKING CONDITIONS, TRAVEL, ENVIRONMENT AND POTENTIAL HAZARDS:

Work in a shuttle bus. Occasional exposure to wind, rain, snow, ice and cold/hot weather extremes. Regular exposure to vehicle traffic, noise and exhaust.

Spokane Airport provides a generous benefit package. Currently, we cover employee at 100% and dependents at 90% of the premium cost. We offer four plan choices for medical coverage (includes vision) through Kaiser Permanente. The Airport contributes to a Health Savings Account (HSA) for high deductible plans and a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) for the other plans. Dental coverage is through MetLife. Additionally, the Airport provides life insurance at two times the annual salary. Optional life insurance is also available. Short term and long term disability is also provided by the Airport. Retirement is through the Washington State Department of Retirement System - PERS Plan. The Airport provides an employee assistance program through BHO, and an employee wellness program. Parking is provided.

The Airport recognizes 11 holidays. Vacation is earned at eight (8) hours a month for the first five (5) years and increases every five (5) years. Sick leave accrues at eight (8) hours a month. The Airport also provides military and jury leave.
