POSITIONSUMMARY:

The Network Analyst role is to ensure the stability and integrity of theuniversity's network. This is achieved by assisting in the planning, design,and development of the campus network (LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi) and the services providedvia the network (as examples; Voice over IP or VOiP a planned replacement forthe campus telephone service and IPTV an augment to our cable TV service in theLiving Learning Centers), including monitoring and providing technical supportin the day to day operations of the campus infrastructure.

In addition, the Network Analyst willparticipate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, andoptimization of all network / telecommunication hardware, software, andcommunication links. This work includes maintaining an inventory of network Itelecommunication property and assets.

Preparing and maintaining networkingdocumentation and network & cabling layouts.

Analyzing and resolving networkhardware and software problems; responding to Help Desk telephone calls,emails, and personal requests for technical support in a timely manner;troubleshoot and resolve LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VOiP, and VPN related problems; andreport on the operational status of the campus network.

The Network Analyst will work withinthe policies of CTS and Duquesne University. The position will consult with theManager of Network and Telecommunication Services or the Director of I InfrastructureServices on all personnel issues and concerns. Large projects are to be researched,chartered and planned with CTS management.

DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tier 2 network and telecommunication support for the campus community. Tier 2 are complex issues dealing withinfrastructure hardware and software components (switches, routers, wireless,internet connectivity, etc.)

Assists in managing the tickets in Footprints(problem/incident workspace)

Assists in monitoring the health andperformance on the network/telecom components and coordinate annual networkswitch upgrades (wired/wireless)

Assists with the system administrationof the LAN, WAN Wi-FI and VOiP services

Assists in managing/maintaining thenetwork and telecommunication equipment inventory

Administration of the PinnacleApplication (adds, moves, and changes)

Maintain the student network technicians work schedule.

Completes otherduties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:

Associates degreein Computer Network Systems or a related field from an accredited institution.

3-5 years ofrelevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degreein Information Technology a related field from an accredited institution.

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:

Required basic qualifications include any typeof Network/Telecommunication training or certifications, 2 - 5 year'sexperience (5 years is preferred).

Valid driver'slicense is required
