Job Details:
The successful Superintendent is to provide on-site administrative and technical management of the related activities including necessary planning, organization, direction, coordination and control for all field personnel in a manner that supports the profit and growth objectives of the company.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:Supervise the operations on the construction sitesMonitor the short-term scheduleReviews, and supports the hiring needsQuality control & coordination responsibilities with other tradesTrain, manage and evaluate project team membersAbility to assist Project Manager prepare construction schedulesMake daily schedules for proper manpower utilizationMaintain daily reports, time sheets, safety and accident reportsCoordinate production and attend meetings with other trades and the general contractor to identify and resolve any conflictsPlan, organize and direct production in accordance with the contracted scope of workOversee quality assurance and quality control programsCoordinate work with Purchasing to insure that requested material is expedited and received as needed for the construction of projectEnsure all installations meet quality and electrical code standardsRecognize and communicate to Project Manager any priority project problems, such as employee, job costing issues or any need for concernResponsible for empowering, training and helping with the growth and development of all field employeesResponsible for the counseling of employees, including the writing/filing and follow-up or corrective measures to be taken for each offenseResponsible for ensuring that the proper paperwork and counseling has been recorded prior to any employee being notified of a lay off or termination.Responsible for ensuring that all installations are correct per NEC, city codes and engineering drawings and specifications.Conduct 90 day and annual reviews as well as end-of-project reviews for specific job performanceOther duties as requiredRequirements:
Active Journeyman's or Master's License requiredPrior knowledge and/or ability to learn and understand the estimating processMust be Safety mindedProficiency with MS Excel and Word is requiredExposure to Accubid a plusStrong verbal, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skillsStrong customer service skills requiredAbility to be mobile to various locations and available to travel to project areas as project needs are required
Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain. Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses at all times), respirator when required. Able to work 8 -10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts. Includes crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required. Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job
