Job Description The Director of Corporate Tax and Treasury will lead the company's global tax strategy and treasury operations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring tax compliance, optimizing the company's tax position, managing liquidity, funding, financial risks, and supporting the company's insurance programs. This role requires a strategic leader who can balance the needs of a complex global organization with a focus on both operational excellence and regulatory compliance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership: Lead and develop high-performing tax and treasury function, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability across a small team and outsourcing partners. Collaborate with senior leadership to align tax and treasury strategies with the company's overall business goals. Provide strategic insights and recommendations on key financial decisions. Work closely with other departments, including Finance, Legal, HR, Operations, and Business Units, to ensure alignment and support for tax and treasury initiatives. Lead the implementation of process improvements, technology enhancements, and organizational changes within the tax and treasury functions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, auditors, and regulatory authorities, on all tax and treasury-related matters. Corporate Tax: Manage global tax strategy, planning, provision, compliance, and reporting including effective utilization of tax technology. Execute tax strategies that align with Red Wing Shoe Company and related entities' business objectives, and maximize tax efficiency across all entities globally. Manage relationships with global external tax advisors. Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and international tax laws and regulations. Manage the preparation and filing of tax returns and other regulatory filings. Identify and execute tax planning opportunities that reduce the company's effective tax rate and support business growth. Manage global transfer pricing policies and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Lead and manage tax audits, disputes, and negotiations with tax authorities. Oversee tax accounting and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely financial statement controls and disclosures related to taxes. Treasury: Oversee global cash management activities, ensuring adequate liquidity to meet the company's operational needs and strategic objectives. Develop and manage the company's capital structure, including debt and equity financing. Optimize funding costs and manage relationships with financial institutions. Manage the company's investment portfolio, ensuring alignment with risk tolerance and return objectives. Identify and mitigate financial risks related to currency, interest rates, and commodities. Implement hedging strategies as appropriate. Maintain and develop relationships with banks and financial institutions to support treasury operations and secure favorable terms. Oversee and manage relationships ith insurance brokers. Ensure the company's insurance policies are appropriately aligned with business needs and risks. Seamlessly manage insurance-related document requests from vendors or customers. Partner with FP&A to ensure that budget expectations reflect market trends, rate fluctuations, and changes in the business. Collaborate with Corporate Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting related to insurance. Work with the CFO, Corporate Controller, and other business partners to execute annual renewal negotiations, securing appropriate coverage while balancing fiscal impact. WORK ENVIRONMENT This role is a hyflex work arrangement; Team setting with an average of 1/day onsite per week in Red Wing, MN headquarters office with remote work eligibility the remainder of the week or as per business requirements are met. Occasional travel may be required, 5% maximum annually. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required. MBA, MBT, CPA, or equivalent advanced degree or certification preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate tax and treasury roles, with a strong background in federal, state, local, and international tax and complex global treasury operations. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Proven experience leading and developing teams across tax and treasury functions in a global, matrixed environment. Deep knowledge of global tax regulations, treasury management practices, financial instruments, and insurance policies. Experience with tax and treasury management systems is a plus. Knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and IFRS. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial data and provide strategic insights. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to senior leadership and external stakeholders. Ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of tax and treasury operations. Experience with tax structuring in cross-border transactions. Familiarity with transfer pricing policies and international tax treaties. Understanding of financial market dynamics and macroeconomic factors impacting treasury operations.
