Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated
Electronics Engineer I
to join our team, providing essential engineering support for tactical network capabilities in an acquisition program. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of electronics engineering processes and be ready to contribute to the development, testing, evaluation, and configuration management of network solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Support:
Perform electronics engineering processes, procedures, and best practices. Provide engineering expertise in development, testing, evaluating, training, and configuration management in support of acquisition programs.Network Architecture:
Assist in engineering support on transport and networking architecture focused on current and future tactical network capabilities.Technical Evaluations:
Support design reviews and perform in-depth technical evaluations and assessments of network performance and architectures, including risk assessments and integration strategies.Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with organizations such as PEO C3T, other Program Managers (PMs), Product Directors (PdMs), and Army-wide stakeholders to coordinate on interoperability considerations.Documentation Review:
Review and understand acquisition documentation (e.g., mission needs statements, operational needs statements, Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs), Capability Development Documents (CDDs), Capability Production Documents (CPDs), technical specifications) and assist in translating those requirements to develop technical solutions that are standards-based and cost-efficient.Proposal Evaluation:
Review Government performance work statements and contractor proposals for technical accuracy to ensure compliance with requirements.Subject Matter Expertise Required:
Experience in network engineering and design, including LANs and VLANs.Familiarity with routing protocols, multicast, routing configurations, and IPv4/IPv6 addressing.Experience with network protocol analysis using tools such as Sniffer or Wireshark.Familiarity with VMware.Knowledge of commercial communications equipment and transport/network architectures.Understanding of end-to-end network design and performance, including voice/data transmission and backbone networks.Knowledge of RF engineering and tactical communications electronics.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
in Engineering, Testing, or a related field.One (1) year of tactical network electronics engineering experience.
