Position Summary: The Heavy Equipment Operator performs skilled work in the operation of a variety of complex heavy construction equipment. Duties include performing manual labor tasks and working with other members of the construction crew ensuring safety and successfully complete projects within specifications and in a quality manner. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of the equipment.
Requirements/Qualifications:
The successful candidate shall have a minimum of Must have 3-5 years Operator Experience in Heavy/Civil Construction.Proficient in Asphalt rolling specifically Steal DrumTo be eligible for consideration, all applicants must possess a valid Driver's License.OSHA 10 certification and FDOT specifications experience preferred.Operate a variety of heavy construction equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, road graders, cranes, rollers cranes, backhoes, loaders, track hoes, dozers, bobcats, skid steers, loader both front-end and back-end and rollers.Maintain equipment by performing routine and preventative maintenance, ensuring safe operation, and completing repairs.Position heavy equipment in tight areas or on steep grades, and load and unload materials from trucks.Work with maps and compasses, GPS, and other tools to navigate job sites.Perform duties during inclement weather, including slippery or muddy conditions.Capable of heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, crouching, and reachingMust have good vision, stamina, hand-eye coordination, and ability to estimate size and dimensions.Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.Able to work outdoors in dusty or dirty areas.Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.Relies on experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals.Adaptive to different personalities and management stylesTeam player with good interpersonal skillsDedicated and hardworking
Responsibilities:
Complete equipment condition reports, as well as a daily checklist of work to be done on your equipment and provide to the Project Superintendent daily.Cleaning the machines regularly. This includes sweeping the cabs and removing trash daily, cleaning the interior weekly, and lubricating doors and windows bi-weekly.Understand and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures. Know where all utilities within the work zone are located. Be responsible for your own safety as well as those working in the area.Inform your Superintendent or Foreman daily of your equipment fuel status so the fuel truck can be scheduled if needed for the next morning.Make a note on your equipment report and let your Superintendent know if you need any supplies, i.e.: grease, oil, rags, cleaning supplies, or if the machine needs to be steam cleaned.Please contact HR for information on the physical demands and the work environment of this position.
