We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee all procurement operations for our award-winning 5-star luxury resort located on a private island in the Caribbean. This hands-on leadership role requires a polished hospitality professional with a proven track record managing complex operations in a remote tropical setting.
Key Responsibilities- Negotiate and manage all contracts for goods, services, and construction projects across the resort- Evaluate and select preferred vendors while maintaining competitive pricing and quality standards- Oversee food and beverage purchasing in line with our renowned culinary program- Supervise purchasing staff and ensure efficient processes for procuring inventory, supplies and equipment- Maintain positive relationships with local suppliers while considering import/export regulations- Analyze spending reports and implement strategies to optimize costs while preserving guest experience- Collaborate with department heads to understand needs and budgetary requirements- Conduct periodic market research and vendor assessments to enhance offerings
Required Skills and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field required- Minimum 5 years of progressive purchasing management experience in luxury resorts or hotels- Extensive experience managing a team and departmental operations/budgets- Strong negotiation and contracts management skills with a proven ability to drive cost savings- Demonstrated success with strategic sourcing, inventory controls, and supply chain management- Knowledge of Caribbean business culture and ability to work within a remote island environment- Excellent communication and leadership abilities with high attention to detail- Proficiency with purchasing/inventory software programs and analyzing spending reports
Preference will be given to candidates with fluency in Spanish/French along with prior experience in Caribbean or tropical destinations. This is an exceptional opportunity to help operate one of the top luxury resorts in the region.
