DescriptionJob DescriptionLeidos is seeking qualified candidates with signal process engineering backgrounds to serve as a team member in support of U.S. Government and commercial contracts for software design, development, testing, integration, documentation and maintenance. The work is based in St. Petersburg, FL.The Signal Processing Engineer will translate system requirements into software requirements, perform software design, and implement software applications and features in an agile environment. The candidate must have strong C/C++ and Python skills. The Signal Processing Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances signal processing software (e.g. detectors, demodulators, protocol processors). Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.Primary ResponsibilitiesSupport all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system design, software development, integration and test, documentation, and maintenance, for complex software system/applications.Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirementsDesign and code new software or modify existing software to add new featuresDebug existing software and correct defectsDescribe various signal processing techniquesIdentify various digital modulation techniquesWrite software using C/C++ and PythonFunctional understanding of Linux-based operating systemsIntegrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environmentsProvide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standardsDevelop/implement algorithms to meet system performance and functional standardsAssist with developing and executing test procedures for software componentsWrite/review software and system documentationDevelop software solutions, confer with users or system engineersAnalyze systems flow, data usage and work processesInvestigate problem areasServe as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on a particular projectModify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performanceDesign, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of designUse signal processing algorithms to convert signalsDesign signal processing software based on sparse documentationIdentify the source of problems in a RF processing systemBoard Support Package (BSP) DevelopmentBasic QualificationsRequires BS degree in CS, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar and 2 - 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 or less years of prior relevant experience.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security ClearanceMinimum of 2-4 years of software development experience through all phases of Software Engineering including requirements, design, code, test and integration2 to 4 years of experience with C/C++ and Python2 to 4 years of Linux experienceReal-time software development experienceHardware-software integration (system integration)RF knowledgePreferred QualificationsExperience in Agile development methods, including ScrumSoftware-defined radio & FPGA architecturesCommercial wireless standards, geolocation techniquesSoftware configuration management/automation tools (Git, Bitbucket, or Artifactory)Python and C/C++, Eclipse IDEXilinx and/or AlteraService oriented architecture and Linux OSModel-based design (e.g. MATLAB, SIMULINK, LabView)Original Posting Date:
