As an Associate Account Manager, you will work closely with a Senior Account Manager or a team of Account Managers and the District Sales Manager to optimize customer service by effectively managing sales activity and workflow around prioritized leads and accounts. This position also assists with growing and maintaining profitable business by providing problem solving solutions for ArcBest that are presented to our customers.Your contribution may include:* Perform sales activities for most or all products available in diverse product lines and multiple markets.* Qualify opportunities associated with new and existing customer leads.* Utilize internal and external data to prioritize opportunities.* Conduct on-site visits to present ArcBest as an overall solution, as needed.* Conduct outbound call and email campaigns, including cold calling.* Participate in negotiating the terms of the business relationship.* Communicate to clients regarding expectations of all parties.* Communicate with or responds to customers in support of company pricing initiatives.* Assist with a wide variety of customers in different industries or walks of life.* Find and adapt products or product features to suit unusual customer needs.* Support and maintain many accounts over long periods of time and diverse circumstances.* Communicate account statuses with team on a regular basis.* Work with a Senior Account Manager or a team of Account Managers to deliver effective solutions to problems and/or complex sales.* Work with service centers to rescue distressed shipments, determine root cause and reason for rescue.* Collaborate with various departments for handling various departmental tasks.* Maintain rapport by communicating in a manner that is suited to the style of each prospect.* Serve as a liaison with Yield and other departments within the organization.* Manage active loads in progress to provide proactive communication to customers.* Manage and maintain Salesforce reports as well as other required reports as needed.* Assist in the collection process and cargo claim prevention, as needed.* Maintain accurate territory account information in system database(s).* Complete sales and performance reports, as instructed and/or as Company guidelines require.* Complete expense reports, itinerary, customer and call reports as required by Company guidelines.* Other duties and projects, as assigned.As an Associate Account Manager, you will be a member of the ArcBest Outside Sales team. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on work load.Ready to apply? Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.Experience: Transportation industry and related sales experience, preferred. Prior experience with Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) tools, preferred.Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn new systems quickly.Other Requirements: Knowledge of business solutions and competitors.
