Due to continued growth, Sargent & Lundy's Electric Grid Infrastructure Services group currently has an opportunity for a Outage Planner in its Chicago, Illinois office. This position will offer you the opportunity to support electric utilities with activities associated with outage planning.Responsibilities:Communicate and coordinate with utility departments and personnel.Support overall team and client engagement with peer to peer reporting, coordination and conflict resolution.Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.Attend project meetings and participate in project conference callsReview design drawings as they are availableAssist in the development and coordination of bus, transmission/distribution cutover sequencing, and system outage requirementsDevelop outage summary to identify construction and outage sequencing based on meeting discussions and review of project activitiesAssist client working departments to create SRSs for outages
Qualifications:We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.Essential skills and experience:Specific experience with Outage Planning of Utility Transmission & Distribution systems20 or more years of experience working for an electric utilityTechnically knowledgeable of high voltage equipment and the electric gridProven communication skillset both verbal and written in support of presentations and reportsExperience with serving as a liaison and working with key stakeholdersWilling to travel to project sites and/or attend client meetingsValue but not required skills and experience:Professional Engineering (PE) licenseProject Managment Professional (PMP)Sargent & Lundy is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
