General Job Summary: Responsible for organizing and maintaining financial accounting systems, including accounts payable, general ledger, accounts receivable, cash disbursements, financial statements, and tax information.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Develops and plans department objectives with Chief Executive Officer and staff including short- and long-range accounting programs in budgeting, profit analysis, accounting systems, and internal auditing.

2. Oversees and directs financial accounting functions to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information and effective expense management.

3. Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.

4. Manages annual budget process covering all clinic locations and ancillaries.

5. Manages cash flow, assessing needs and recommending appropriate financing to support capital requirements.

6. Coordinates with CEO to plan and facilitate monthly meetings of the board's Finance Committee.

7. Works with Finance Committee to develop and approve financial statements, including balance sheets, profit/loss statements, and analysis of variances in accounts, ratios, income and expense.

8. Calculates compensation of all physician partners following the compensation model developed and approved by partners.

9. Reviews all expenditures for compliance with budget and financial policies.

10. Reviews all third-party contracts and monitors contract revenues. Interacts with auditors, lenders, and other third-party agencies regarding financial matters.

11. Coordinates with CEO and Human Resources to administer employee benefit plans effectively and cost-efficiently.

12. Administers OrthoCincy's retirement plan, ensuring responsible management of investments, compliance with all regulations, and oversight of outside administrators.

13. Develops and maintains a banking relationship for the practice.

14. Responsible for hiring, development, and other personnel matters for finance team.

15. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, providers, and co-workers.

16. Ensures HIPAA, OSHA and safety compliance of the department.

17. Participates as needed as a member of various committees related to the overall improvement of the organization.

18. Directs the preparation of statistical information and reports for management, government, industry benchmarking, and other agencies.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting. Master's degree in finance and/or CPA preferred. Minimum three years of financial management experience including two years in a health care organization.

Other Requirements: Travel to other locations as designated. Evening hours and some weekends will be worked as designated by practice. Position requires a flexible schedule.

4. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, auditors, and the public.

5. Skill in identifying and resolving accounting and financial problems.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment.

Work Environment: Office environment.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
