Job Details:We are searching for a dedicated and experienced Vice President of Administration & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our non-profit organization. The successful candidate will be a strategic individual with 5+ years of managerial accounting and financial management experience in a non-profit setting. The VP of Administration & CFO will be a hands-on and participative manager and will lead and develop an internal team to support the following areas: finance, business planning and budgeting, human resources, administration, and IT.
Responsibilities:Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.Coordinate all audit activities.Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the organizations financial status.Assist the organization's leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.Oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period.Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the program vice presidents; continuously collaborate with program vice presidents to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.Leverage the finance and accounting team to improve financial procedures.Lead the organization's HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance with labor laws, and HR policies and procedures development.Work closely with the board of directors, providing them with professional advice and ensuring all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.Qualifications:
Minimum of a BA; CPA and/or MBA preferred.At least 5 years of overall professional experience; ideally 6+ years of broad financial and operations management experience in a non-profit setting.The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area.Ability to translate financial concepts and to effectively collaborate with programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds.A track record in grants management as it relates to compliance and reporting of government, corporate and foundation grants is essential.Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software.Commitment to training programs that maximize individual and organization goals across the organization including best practices in human resources activities.A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment.Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of the organization.Experience with Tessitura or similar systems is strongly preferred.
