Summary of Duties:

As the Accounting Relations Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management, operations, and leadership of the Accounting Connections program, having responsibility for directing, managing, and controlling program operations, and being accountable for the allocation of resources and program results.

In this role, you will be the lead administrator and responsible for bringing together professionals, students, faculty, and alumni for the purpose of supporting the strategic objectives of the Department of Accounting, the Carson College of Business, and Washington State University. As such, you will develop and implement the department strategy for enhancing student professional skills, ensuring successful student placement, and increasing engagement among student, faculty, and professionals. In addition, you will also assist in student recruiting and growing donor financial support.

You will be expected to exercise independent judgement and discretion in work directly related to management policies and you will have authority to make financial and non-financial commitments that affect the Department of Accounting.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in a program-related area and four (4) years of progressively responsible work in the program specialty, which has included at least two (2) years of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

• Experience with entry-level accounting or other advising.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability and willingness to occasionally travel, work weekends, and work after regular business hours.

• Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/#four_3 and departmental driving standards.

• Experience with event planning.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the job market and employers in the greater Seattle area.

• Coordinating career fairs, workshops, or employer engagement events.

• Strong networking skills and ability to build relationships with employers, alumni, and community organizations.

• Experience working with diverse populations, including students, alumni, and professionals at various stages of their careers.

• Work experiences that demonstrate strong public speaking skills and the development and delivery of engaging and informative presentations.

• Work experience that demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and work in a collaborative team environment.

• Familiarity with student-led, alumni-led, and faculty-led activities.

• Experience in a professional accounting environment.
