The American Express Corporate Affairs & Communications (CA&C) team is a strategic function that works to enhance and protect the continued strength of the American Express brand through public relations, social media and content, colleague communications and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The Manager will be responsible for managing operational deliverables that mitigate risk across multiple processes within CA&C, including but not limited to, comprehensively documenting in the Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) all controls and tests to exhibit how CA&C is mitigating risks.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Manage the completion of multiple Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) refreshes and development that are subject to defined due dates
Evaluate PRSA risks, controls, and tests for accuracy, completeness and applicability to mitigating linked risks
Facilitate risk remediation efforts for all Operational Risk Events (ORE)
Manage Compliance, Privacy, Operational Risk Governance Group (ORGG) PRSA and Global Records Management Review Action Items
Assess, develop action plans and monitor action plan completion for Regulatory Change Management (RCM) items LOBCO deemed applicable while integrating RCMs across all applicable PRSA’s (ie Accessibility, etc)
Collaborate with colleagues across CA&C Operations team, 2 nd Line of Defense teams and other CA&C colleagues in developing and documenting processes that mitigate risks
Execute CA&C Business Self testing / Control Assertions / Annual Certifications processes
Participate in and manage CA&C projects related to risk management or governance initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
5 years experience in Risk Management and/or Process Management
Proven success at managing multiple deliverables and priorities within a defined timeline / deadline and under pressure
Strong problem-solving skills; ability to see the big picture with attention given to critical details
Ability to understand the underpinning of processes and determine root causes of issues
Strong business acumen and demonstrated thought leadership
Proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities and provide clarity in ambiguous situations
Excellent relationship, collaboration, and presentation skills with ability to interact and influence leaders across all levels and teams in a matrixed organization
Self-confident with a strong sense of integrity and the ability and willingness to challenge and be challenged
Ability to communicate key risks to colleagues, business partners, and senior leaders
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or advanced degree
Strong understanding of American Express Operational Risk program

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
