About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:
The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid!
The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on electric-vehicle charging, photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. Additionally, assembly of electric-vehicle chargers, low-voltage motor control centers, and retrofit and replacement circuit breakers occurs at the facility.
We are looking for a QMiP Manager. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.
This position is the working manager of the Quality Manager in Project team. The manager directs, trains, develops strategy, supervises and mentors the team of QMiPs. This manager is also a working manager having QMiP responsibilities for individual projects.
In addition to the manager responsibilities, the QMiP manager supports and advises the Project Manager and the Project Team in the planning, implementation and coordination of project-specific quality assurance actions in compliance with the defined processes. This is a customer facing role requiring coordination with cross functional team and has high visibility in the organization. The manager interacts closely with the PMO management team to ensure goals and expectations are met.
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for the project quality in the Electrification and Automation business unit.
Lead customer facing QMiP responsibilities for large industrial end users, data center or Semi-conductor clients.
Work closely with the project execution team (from proposal to installation/ commissioning and through Warranty) to ensure the customer quality management requirements and ensure the development, control and implementation of a quality plan (including quality assurance measures such as review / test / validation / internal audit / customer complaint management).
Ensure cross-functional cooperation with Procurement, Logistics, R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, and relevant suppliers to achieve quality business goals.
Adapt and provide a project-specific management system including project documentation, regulations, methods, and IT tools, following a risk-based approach.
Be the single quality point of contact for customers collaborating with multiple different factories.
Liaison between customer and different factories to discuss quality requirements, breakdown requirements into different quality packages and implement requirements on program specific level.
Lead root cause investigation with factory and cross-function team for all field quality issues and implement corrective and preventive action
Drive process standardization across all factories according to specific project requirements
Manage customer dashboard and portal for all quality topics including – providing daily updates for resolution on open field issues, providing weekly updates for open CARs, ensure all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are being met.
Coordinate 3 rd party audit and factory audits and lead supplier audits.
Coordinate pre-shipment SQA inspection and L1 red tag and ensure timely completion for every equipment.
Ensure punch list items are being completed and documented. Ensure timely closure of checklist.
Lead weekly quality meetings to discuss about open corrective action report and systemic issues. Ensure implementation of systematic improvements
Participate in monthly quality forums and executive business reviews to present quality metrics dashboard to senior management within Siemens and customer organization.
Ensure professional non-conformance (NC) management.
Monthly review of before delivery and after delivery Non-Conforming Costs (NCCs) across business. Lead root cause investigation and CAPA implementation.
Monitor and reduce project related NCCs.
Ensure lessons learned are being conducted for every project and being implemented on future projects.
Coach project team members in agile/lean methods.
Ensure the implementation of quality improvement methods and improves process performance management (e.g., 8D, RCA, FMEA).
Select innovative digital solutions to improve project quality.
Ensure the implementation and improvement of project quality reporting as integrated part of project reporting.
Contribute to project planning to ensure that project-specific, quality-relevant requirements are considered starting with sales phase. Initiate training for project employees with regards to quality (e.g., methods and processes).
Advise and/or conduct quality-related methodology/tools (esp. risk management, identify and conduct relevant lessons learned, Quality Gates, NC management, root cause analysis, etc.)

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science.
10+ years of experience leading a highly functional team of quality professionals.
Have a forward thinking, proactive mind set
Excellent customer interaction skills
Demonstrate a proven track record of project launches with minimal NCCs and on time delivery of the end product
Experience in core quality tools like FMEA, Six Sigma, 5Why, 8D, Ishikawa Diagram, VSM, Process audits.
Data Analytics/ Digitalization skills
Experience in Project and Lean Management is desirable.
Experience in Salesforce database
Ability to work in matrix global organization.
Flexibility to work on international projects and travel worldwide as the need arises (~15-20% travel).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree preferred.
ASQ or other quality certifications desired.
Technical knowledge and experience in Switchgear and Motor Control Centers, a huge plus
Experience working with Data Center, Semi-conductor or Utility customers, a huge plus.

The pay range for this position is $98,980 - $169,680 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
