As a part of the team, to underwrite and develop a profitable Financial Lines book in Latin America and offer outstanding service to our clients.
Job Responsibilities & Competence
Helping to grow a profitable book of financial lines business, within guidelines and limits of delegated authority as defined in the Underwriting Authority Statement
Production of new business - understand fully the Business Plan and target client/business accordingly
Manage renewal of accounts – applying strategies to retain quality business, improve accounts with slight deterioration and eliminate accounts with poor results
Market The Hartford brand throughout Latin American and Caribbean in over 25 countries.
Manage and develop broker relationships in over 25 countries
Focuses upon profit generation
Provides technical expertise and market knowledge in the Financial Lines sector
Ensure that the Group’s standards for risk analysis, risk selection, technical pricing and renewal date monitoring are met
Collaborate with Operations to ensure that timely and accurate data recording is achieved
Ensure accurate data entry in systems
Identify cross selling opportunities with other lines of business
Qualifications & Capabilities
First-hand knowledge of financial lines risks
Have a strong technical knowledge of all Financial Lines products
Team player with ability to work with other Reinsurance underwriters and teams in other geographies
Willingness to continue to develop knowledge of Insurance and related issues through form and informal learning
Knowledge of general insurance and its underlying principles
Ability to prioritise and organise workload and meeting deadlines and that of the team
Ability to develop and sustain relationships with internal and external customers
Experience
Relevant experience in insurance production or underwriting, financial lines experience required
Experience working in Latin America
Marketing Skills
In depth knowledge of Latin American Financial lines Market with broker contacts
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
