JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Production Team Leader, the Production Scheduler is responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date production schedule in support of customer orders, forecasts, requirements while maximizing job profitability and process efficiency. The Production Scheduler is responsible for managing all aspects of the production scheduling process, maintaining control and accuracy over all transactions pertaining to the production schedule to ensure on time delivery and inventory efficiency. This position is onsite at our Ravenna, OH facility.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide manufacturing operations support including mixing, extrusion, packaging and shipment of completed product. Provide support to all three production shifts, this may involve periodically modifying your work schedule to meet with and work with team members on the off-shifts. Assist Production Team in achieving manufacturing objectives. Assist Production Team in support and troubleshooting for manufacturing operations. Assist Production Team in development, testing and improving manufacturing processes for new and existing products that optimize operation, reduce product variability and increase yields. Prepare for and lead daily Production Schedule meeting to analyze the previous day's results, discuss the current day's activities, and make any changes to support production requirements. Prepare for and lead daily cross-functional Production meeting to update Maintenance, Supply Chain, EHS, and Quality Assurance of the current day's activities and allocation of resources. Analyze and calculate raw material stock levels in production locations to ensure adequate level of material for production use. Analyze work center capacity and advise the Production Team Leader of staffing or other constraints. Analyze and prepare raw material demand forecasting reports to ensure timely ordering and delivery of raw materials to our facility. Collect and analyze production data and report on performance, identifying areas for improvement in processes and procedures. Create and distribute production schedule and production forecasts and issue work orders (including production packets) to production team. Communicate with Production Team and Supply Chain Team, daily, regarding identified concerns with material/component availability, equipment failures, customer demands, engineering changes, and deviations that impact the attainment of the production schedule. Ensure timely execution of all ERP / MRP transactions to facilitate proper product movement through the supply chain Utilize ERP / MRP system to auto-generate manufacturing work orders, open orders, close orders, process scrap, run queries, and reports. Coordinate/expedite manufacturing work orders to ensure schedules are achieved. Create reports for cross functional visibility into production status. (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) Conduct root cause analysis, establish counter measures and maintain performance metrics to achieve business plan objectives. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Ensure data integrity in ERP for production functions. Complete all reporting and necessary tasks for month end closing work in a timely manner. This may require spending additional time on the month end closing date to complete the work. Communicates any damaged/contaminated material received with designated contacts to resolve or attain proper disposition of material. Manage product schedules in collaboration with R&D, procurement, supply chain, sales and HQ. Create SOPs and assist in training production team on designated processes and procedures. Ensures accuracy of Lot numbers, Packaging Codes, Nomenclature, Weight of Material, Supplier, Rate Codes, etc. Ensures production schedule is continuously up to date and reflects any changes made. Performs other duties as required. EDUCATION, SKILLS, and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline highly preferred. HS Diploma or equivalent required. Solid acumen of manufacturing environment workflow and process control 3+ years of experience as a Production Scheduler in a manufacturing environment required. Production Scheduler experience in compounding industry, polymer industry, familiarity with products that have many color variants, and downstream environment preferred Working knowledge of the following manufacturing processes: Twin screw polymer compounding preferred. Working knowledge of raw materials, production processes, demand planning, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Lead by using the MBWA (Management by Walking Around) style to ensure the system is performing. Continually demonstrate the highest level of code of conduct leadership behavior. Strong initiative, self-directed, and takes action on opportunities. Ability to accurately count numbers. Ability to interact well with internal and external customers. Excellent communication skills. Proficient use of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF) and Power Point. Experience with ERP software-SAP preferred. Familiarity with ISO/IATF requirements and documentation preferred. Strong attention to detail; able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
