ABOUT SILVERTON
Silverton is 15 miles east of Salem, just off I-5, along Hwy 213. Founded in 1854, it's a historic town nestled in the heart of Willamette Valley and home to the Oregon Garden and Silver Falls State Park, which has several miles of trails and many waterfalls. Silverton and the surrounding communities are wonderful places to live and have a full complement of amenities and activities for all seasons. Its convenient location offers short travel distances to the Oregon coast, Oregon Wine Country and the Portland area.
Legacy Silverton Medical Center
serves the heart of the Willamette Valley with many services common to a community hospital but provided at the highest level of quality and care: CT scanning, nuclear medicine, echocardiography and its own family birth center that's virtually connected to newborn specialists through Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel. What's more, Legacy Silverton recently completed a $37 million expansion and improvement project. This means 21,000 additional square feet that expands the hospital's emergency department to include fully modernized patient rooms, a trauma treatment bay, airborne isolation patient rooms and space that's been optimized for natural light and soothing views of nature. A new helicopter landing pad allows air ambulances to safely land and transport critically ill patients and babies. The new addition emphasizes Legacy Silverton's stated commitment to expand health care services for the entire Willamette Valley.
About Legacy Health:
Good health for our people, our patients, our community and our world. These are not just words. They are commitments that form the core of Legacy's mission. That mission matches a profound and serious footprint: Legacy Health is a locally owned, nonprofit, six-hospital health system that also includes more than 70 primary care, specialty and urgent care clinics, 13,000 employees, nearly 3,000 health care providers and a partnership with Pacific Source health plan. We provide comprehensive primary, secondary and tertiary care services across the Portland and Vancouver metro area and the mid-Willamette Valley. From rural areas to urban centers, we play a critical role in the lives of 2.5 million people. As one of the largest employers in the area, people trust Legacy with their lives and livelihoods. We value the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and work to ensure that DEI initiatives are integrated into every system-wide strategy. This includes all of our operations and patient care.
