Job Summary: This position is responsible for the safe transportation of equipment to and from various customer job locations and stores. This position involves local hauling of equipment and supplies as well as loading, unloading, and securing the equipment. Additionally this position will assist with rolling cable, inventory assistance, helping load/unload customers and various shop and/or yard activities when applicable. This position is responsible for the safe transportation of engine components, parts, and similar loads. Assists the engine builders during engine overhauls, perform vehicle inspections, and local pick-up and delivery. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions:• Delivers and picks up of equipment for customers in a safe, timely, efficient, and courteous manner• Secures equipment by means of chaining, strapping, and blocking under the strict accordance and established procedures• Perform pre- and post- vehicle inspection; Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition, before, during, and after delivery trips• Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles• Performs basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs• Completes DOT required drivers daily log and trip sheets accurately and without misrepresentation• Performs basic troubleshooting involving malfunctioning equipment at job site and make minor repairs• Demonstrates proper and safe equipment usage to customer at the point of delivery• Obtains required signatures on rental contracts, pick up, and exchange forms• Assists with rolling cables, inventory assistance, load/unload customers and various shop and/or yard activities whenever required in a safe and efficient manner• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Basic knowledge of industrial engine, transportation, and safe driving procedures• Knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety Regulations/DOT guidelines• Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction• Quality control analysis skills - conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance• Operation and control skills - controlling operations of equipment or systems• Equipment selection skills - determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job• The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions• Ability to read maps and operate GPS systems• Ability to maintain a clean driver's record and diligent attention to safety• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair• The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble small objects• The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing• The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

Education and Experience:• Three years' driving experience preferred, with verifiable over-the-road experience operating combination commercial vehicles• High school or equivalent diploma preferred• Valid Driver's license with Class A CDL certification, DOT Physical Examination (Medical card)• Possess knowledge of and/or previous experience in driving delivery trucks, towing tandem axle utility trailers, and towable construction equipment, and operating safely within high traffic or congested city zones and in small areas

Supervisory Responsibilities:• None

Travel:• Travel up to 100%

Physical Requirements:• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 100% of the time• Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.• Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds• Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina• Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladders• Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment• Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work

Work Environment:• Requires working in a closed vehicle or equipment• Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment• Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions including extreme conditions such as heavy rain, wind, or excessive temperatures• Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable• Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment• Significant time spent in confined spaces and/or high places
