Through evidence-based, goal-centered, professional supporting programming, BBBS of NYC provides consistent support and guidance to matches that result in longer, stronger match relationships that advance the social emotional development and academic progress of young people across the five boroughs.JOB SUMMARY:BBBS of NYC seeks a Finance Associate to support with day-to-day financial operations. The role requires collaboration with other departments to support financial processes, maintain vendor/expense records, and contribute to the automation of finance operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and adept at handling multiple financial tasks efficiently.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform all functions of Accounts Payable including payment processing and physical and electronic filing.Collect, review, process and allocate all check requests and invoices and communicate details with vendors.Maintain up-to-date vendor files, including ACH information and W9 documentationPerform all functions of Accounts Receivable including credit card processing and check/cash depositsPartner with Corporate engagement team to ensure seamless invoices to donors and sponsors in a timely manner and collaborate with the corporate chief department for collection and reconciliation of account balance.Partner with the development and corporate team to make sure that the general ledger reconciles with the development database monthlyPartner with the CFO and Chief Development Officer on quarterly reconciliation of receivable aging and processing write-offs on uncollectable pledgesEnter journal entries on a rolling basis in Sage IntacctReconcile and review all corporate card expenses in accordance with organizational policiesPartner with Director of Finance and CFO in the annual preparation of audited financial statements.Responds to audit requests regarding special events, foundation, individual giving and corporate workplace.Director of Finance & Administration with government grants monthly expense reports, submission, and complianceTrain staff on proper coding of expenditures and ensure proper coding of expenses on a department, account, and grant levelProvide support for Cash flow and budget analysisMaintain department files and documentsRun reports (general ledger, A/P, etc.) as needed for internal stakeholdersCollaborate effectively within a team structure to achieve departmental goals and enhance financial operations.Partner with Director of Finance and Executive Leadership to further automate various finance processes.Perform other duties as assignedJOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:1-3 years' experience in accounting and financial management; bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business management strongly preferred.Must have technical and computational accounting skills as well as an understanding of US GAAP and applicable industry standardsMust be detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Advanced computer skills needed (Microsoft Excel/Word)Nonprofit work experience a plusKnowledge of Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Tallie a plusCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS:Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000 annuallyDental, Health, and Vision Insurance403b Retirement PlanHybrid Work Schedule/Flexible Work Arrangements14 Federal Holidays + Summer & Winter Office ClosuresGenerous Vacation & Sick TimeHOW TO APPLY:Please submit your resume and cover letter via our Career Center.Applications without a cover letter will NOT be reviewed.Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City does not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, membership in an employee organization, retaliation, parental status, military service, or other non-merit factors.
