Director of Children's Services in
Feasterville-Trevose
to provide person-centered care tailored to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Director of Children’s Services maintains a high-quality program to support children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This person is responsible for the administration and management of the home(s), including the safety and protection of children, implementing policiesand procedures and ensuring compliance with state regulations.
Responsibilities
Lead and train teams to support programmatic initiatives, goals, daily routines, and the uniqueneeds of children with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesManage team performance through effective communication, training, performancemanagement, staff meetings, and employee recognitionRecommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements inefficiency of department and services performedDevelop current and new children services including residential supports, personalizedsupports, and person-centered planningMaintain a high-quality program per state regulations for adult and children servicesCoordinate educational services for children and teenagers in our careMonitor and maintain program budgetsPrepare required statistical, financial, and service reports as neededDevelop and update Individual Support Plans (ISP)/Person-Centered Plans (PCP) with aninterdisciplinary team to include any concerns, observations, and behavioral developmentsEnsure individuals are supported per their ISP/PCP including medication management, mealplanning, and behavior managementEnsure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timelyMonitor the finances of individuals ensuring purchases are approved and accounted for withdocumentationMonitor the health and medical needs of individuals and immediately report any concernsManage relationships with the families and guardians of the children and teenagers in our careEnsure work locations and vehicles are well maintainedMay be required to be available at all times either onsite or by phoneMay conduct programmatic investigationsAdditional tasks and responsibilities may be assignedEmployee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, orinvestigationEmployment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background,central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testingMinimum Requirements
Master’s degree from an accredited university and two years’ work experience inadministration or human services; or bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and fouryears of work experience in administration or human servicesValid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving recordComplete all state and agency required training per state guidelinesTeam-oriented with demonstrated leadership experienceExperience with problem solving against multiple prioritiesAbility to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receivingsupportsAbility to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent time management skillsWorking Conditions
May be required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staffFrequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion may be requiredMay be required to transport individuals utilizing own vehicle or company provided vehiclesMay be required to lift or move 25+ poundsMay assist with wheelchair transfer of non-ambulatory individualsMay be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseasesWhy Community Options?
