Position: Physician Assistant Studies: Full-Time Faculty Location: St. Paul, MN Job Id: 323306 # of Openings: 1 Physician Assistant: Full-Time Faculty Position Overview: The Department of Physician Assistant (PA) Studies at Concordia University - St. Paul (CSP) offers a full-time, tenure-track, 12-month faculty appointment for a Principal Faculty position. Academic rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position will report directly to the PA Program Director upon appointment. The CSP PA Program, currently seeking Provisional Accreditation from the ARC-PA, presents a unique opportunity for a Principal Faculty member to play a central role in its initial development. This position will be instrumental in shaping the future of the CSP PA Program during the Provisional Accreditation process. Position Primary Role: This Principal Faculty position, in alignment with the CSP mission, vision, and values, will work closely with the Program Director to develop and deliver content for courses within the didactic and clinical curricula. Duties include teaching, scholarship, academic advising, service, and professional activities. Principal Faculty also serve on admissions, curriculum, and student progress committees and aid in student assessment and ongoing program evaluation. Duties include collaborating with the Program Director, Assistant Program Director, Program Manager, and Program Team in shared responsibilities relevant to all aspects of PA student experiences; conducting analyses of the program curriculum's efficiency and design; implementing data-based course modifications as appropriate; developing and implement data-based learning and assessment tools for courses; coordinate clinical phase end-of-rotation learning experiences; support the teaching and the development for other principal and instructional faculty; assist in the supervision of the program curriculum to ensure the effectiveness of education towards meeting both ARC-PA accreditation standards and the PA Program's mission, vision, and goals; and participate in general faculty activities such as research, service, teaching and student mentoring. This faculty position exemplifies the CSP mission, vision, and values, and acts in accordance with CSP policies and procedures. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as course director and instructor for the didactic and clinical phase courses. Establish and maintain course objectives that map to program competencies/student learning outcomes for the curriculum, consistent with professional practice, the PA Program, and ARC-PA standards. Develop and maintain assessment tools and facilitate data-based curricular change decisions as needed. Support student learning activities to attain the program's academic competency standards. Maintain and disseminate the academic calendar, including ensuring compliance with initiatives affecting the PA Program calendar or academic schedule. Foster communication and collaboration among the PA faculty and staff through meetings and/or consultation. Coordinate all evaluation processes and ensure feedback and action plans are communicated promptly. Address student performance deficiencies and develop, implement, and monitor remediation plans effectively and timely. Ensure students are oriented to and maintain all policies and procedures related to the PA Program, the College of Health and Science, and CSP University. Maintain records regarding the attainment of program competencies and evaluations associated with student performance. Recruit and orient instructional faculty and engage in ongoing faculty assessment and mentoring to ensure adherence to program quality standards. Position Secondary Responsibilities: Provide additional leadership in maintaining ARC-PA accreditation standards and compliance with regulatory requirements. Participate in the program's admissions committee, including candidate review, interview, and selection. Mentor and advise students, fostering a supportive learning environment. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Program Director, Program Medical Director, Program Director, or Dean. Position Qualifications: Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C): Required A master's degree in a field related to the health sciences, education, or management: Required Must have, or be eligible for, licensure as a PA in Minnesota: Required At least one year of clinical experience as a clinically-practicing PA-C: Preferred At least three years of experience in physician assistant education or at least three years of full-time higher education: Strongly Preferred Demonstrated abilities in teaching, research, scholarship, student advisement, committee service, management, and administration: Preferred Supplemental Information: It is the policy of CSP to provide equal opportunity to all employees and applicants for employment in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
