PRIMARY FUNCTIONThe Market Sector Leader supports HED's growth in the K-12 market sector and serves as a thought leader in K-12 Educational facilities. The position is responsible for maintaining a strong presence for the K-12 studio, furthering its growth and development, overseeing market sector activities including new business development, managing client relationships, conducting fee and contract negotiations, coordinating with our marketing team on budgets and achieving project profit goals.

The Market Sector Leader serves as one of HED's key participants and spokespersons with prospective clients, professional organizations and the public; and plays a lead role in the marketing of the HED's professional services.

TYPICAL DUTIESResponsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Strategic planning, positioning and business developmentWorking with Business Development Managers and Marketing Managers to identify project leads, develop marketing strategies and prepare proposals and interview presentationsLeading the process for developing and implementing the K-12 Studio marketing planDeveloping, negotiating and implementing the professional services proposal/contract processEstablishing project service delivery requirements, hour allocations, team structure and project schedule commitment, and project profit goalsEstablish and maintain relationships with the state agencies governing public and private school developmentRepresenting HED as a Project Director when requested or requiredManaging the annual marketing budget for the K-12 StudioTracking opportunities, sales and revenueEnsuring projects are delivered to HED's quality standards and to the client's satisfactionFacilitating efforts across offices, both in pursuing and delivering workAssisting with identifying a core team of experts within each technical discipline to service clients and provide technical expertiseRepresenting HED at conferences and seminars, publishing articles, and networking with individuals and professional organizationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS

Professional Bachelor's level degree in Architecture and professional licensure requiredLEED accredited and familiarity with working in a Revit environment preferredMinimum fifteen years' professional experience with five years in business development and project management, with a particular focus on K12 Educational FacilitiesExtensive knowledge of all aspects of professional services from marketing through project close-out, including design and technical expertiseExperience and knowledge working with the State Agencies governing public school construction, namely DSA, CDE and OPSCExperience with the entitlement process for private school developmentA comprehensive understanding of the coordination aspects and related requirements of all design disciplinesAbility to motivate and work well with others under deadline situationsExceptional writing and speaking skills, and strong organizational skillsContractual and financial business acumenVery detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexibleProven ability to interact well in various business and social settings

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Capable of traveling to and from project sites for attending client, project and construction meetingsCapable of traveling to regional and national K-12 conferencesAbility to access project sites for observation, investigation and evaluation purposesAbility to use equipment for communication and documentation purposesVisual acuity to perform responsibilities#LI-RF1
