HEAD CUSTODIAN
REPORTS TO:

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:High School education or equivalent.1-2 year's experienceAbility to clean equipment and machines.Some maintenance and repair knowledge.Some knowledge of use and handling of cleaning chemicals.Supervisory and workload knowledge/experience.Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with staff, students, and administration, as well as community members utilizing school spaces.Ability to train other custodial staff on cleaning techniques and equipment use.Ability to use technology (email, work order system, building usage software).WORK YEAR:

JOB GOALS:
Responsible for insuring cleanliness of the school or facility, including cleaning and sanitizing, minor building repairs and general maintenance. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Ensures that building custodians are cleaning and maintaining assigned spaces appropriately and consistently.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises, coordinates, and addresses all operations of custodial care of the assigned school.Coordinates, assigns, and directs the day-to-day work of other custodial personnel.Ensures custodians are cleaning rooms and areas using the Cleaning Procedures attached.Regularly inspects areas to measure custodial job performance.Works with custodians, as well as the Operations Manager, on completing periodic Job Performance Reviews.Ability to be flexible and work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.Performs general maintenance tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility.Utilizes the work order system, Schooldude, to document any building issues that require the services of Building Maintenance.Sees to the general security of the facility during regular shift.Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and materials in the assigned school.During the summer months, coordinates total cleaning and general maintenance of the building. May be assigned to any crew for general district projects as necessary.Observes all district policies and procedures, as well as ensures all custodians observe all district policies and procedures.Constant lifting of 5-20 pounds.Frequent lifting 20 to 50 pounds.Constant walking and standing.Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, climbing and kneeling.Occasional crawling, sitting, stooping.There are times when working conditions require exposure to cold or warm temperatures for extended periods of time.Will oversee and take part in any or all parts of snow removal: shoveling, snowblowing/plowing, sand/salt treatment of walkways.Checks building use software, Master Library, for any and all special events at their assigned location.Oversees the setup of special events.Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
