Christiana Care - Wilmington Hospital is looking to hire an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for our 8S ACE Unit. In this role, the ANM shares responsibility and accountability for all aspects of daily operational activity with the Nurse Manager. Responsibilities include:
Assist the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction for the clinical practice of nursing and delivery of high-quality and cost-effective care to all patients utilizing the services of this area.Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to directly supervise all nursing and technical personnel Assess the competency of staff.Oversee daily staffing and scheduling needs of the department.Evaluate staff performance, and Counsels staff members when performance issues are identified.Participate in all hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, and termination decisions.Function as a highly visible role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors that support the professional development of staff and the strategic goals of CCHS.Identify and develop strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and professionalism of staff.Direct, mentors, and supports all levels of staff on the floor.Identify potential future leaders and engage in succession planning.Analyze administrative and operational functions; implement appropriate changes and system-wide improvements.Develop, implement, and monitor performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.Unit
8 South is a 30-bed medical-surgical unit, specializing in Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE),
located on the 8th floor, south tower of the Wilmington campus, which provides scheduled.
and emergent care/procedures on a 24-hour basis. The area is designed to accommodate 30
older adult patients who need acute hospitalization.
The scope of services on 8S encompasses a variety of diagnoses/testing including such as: heart failure, stroke, altered mental status, acute kidney injury, urinary tract, infections, pneumonia, stroke, falls, and related injuries from the same, GI bleeding, and anemia.
The patient population cared for in this area includes older adults ages 65 and above. The conditions of patients cared for in this area can be described as fair to serious. The patients are received/transferred/admitted from the ICU, stepdown, emergency department, and Hospital Care at Home.
