Performs a variety of administrative duties to support the Financial Aid outreach unit. Will handle confidential information and provide excellent customer service. This position will provide administrative support for outreach efforts.

POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide quality customer service to all callers and visitors to the office.Serve as point of contact for outreach presentation requests. Will coordinate workshops, develop and make presentations on and off campus to groups regarding financial aid and scholarships. Secure locations and manage logistics for financial aid outreach events.Keep outreach requests calendared and up to date.Coordinate the development, implementation and completion of special projects and/or procedures for outreach activities.Assist with financial aid problems in person, by phone and by email.Assist with outreach activities that involve recruitment, retention, and some post-graduation issues related to financial aid.Serve as a member of the financial literacy planning team.Provides financial aid and scholarship information to prospective and currently enrolled students and their families.Collaborate with Financial Aid Counselors on outreach planning.Assist with the social media presence for the office.Assists the Senior Administrative Coordinator in providing mentorship and training to work-study students.Provides information on and refers students to University resources that can assist them in meeting their needs or solving their problems.Perform other duties as assigned or requested.Loyola Marymount University Expectations

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum two years of experience performing a variety of administrative/secretarial duties to support a department, school/college, program or unit. General knowledge of standard office procedures.Knowledge of the Federal Title IV programs, the State of California Grants, and Scholarships.Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: Modern office methods and practices: filing systems; telephone and email etiquette; business forms letter and report writing; proofreading and office equipment; current English usage, spelling, grammar, and rhetoric.Ability to assess, navigate and research student records on Banner and Nolij and other federally related websites and portals; Ability to advise on financial aid policies and procedures. Ability to collect and analyze data.Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.Basic knowledge of office machines, word processing, spreadsheets, email and databases. (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.

Salary range$22.88 - $28.61 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
