Join our committed team and help shape the future we envision.Summary Job Summary:A Pharmacy Purchasing Agent is responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of medications and supplies within the pharmacy department, ensures appropriate turn over, limits medication and supply waste and balances purchasing as not to exceed budget requirements. Performs quarterly (and as required), in depth analysis of medication and supply usage to set maximum and minimum levels supporting healthy financial stewardship. Provide additional oversight of contract compliance with GPO. Continuously monitors for medication shortages and helps pharmacy leadership develop strategies for shortage mitigation. Serves as a liaison between the pharmacy and wholesaler/ manufacturer's representatives to ensure that the organization purchases pharmaceuticals, supplies and equipment that meet quality standards while minimizing costs. Additional duties include but are not limited to: receipt and review of daily medication and supply delivery, tracking and submission of monthly interdepartmental billing to AP department, cycle counting of medications and supplies, daily maintenance of medication barcode and NDC integrity, perform daily review of recalls and expedient quarantine and document affected lots expediently, segregate and prepare expiring/recalled medications for return to manufacturer and/or reverse distributor, run and review reports daily in applicable inventory software systems, place medication and supply orders in a timely fashion, meet regularly with pharmacy leadership to present usage data, shortages and current states of department medication and supply inventory.Additionally, serves as a functional expert and provides operational guidance to technician peers.A Pharmacy Purchasing Agent at Moffitt Cancer Center must have pharmacy technician certification in addition to being licensed as a Registered Pharmacy Technician by Florida Board of Pharmacy.The Ideal Candidate:Experience with Inventory control and purchasing Experience with Cerner systemsExperience with BD Logistics is preferredMinimum Experience Required: 5+ years of work experience in Pharmacy/Supply Chain or related areaMinimum Skills/Specialized Training RequiredMicrosoft Office Professional programs, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, etc.Pharmacy automation software and equipment and pharmacy wholesaler systemsEffective processing, interdepartmental coordination, critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills and delegation with follow-up skills.Ability to learn new skills and technologyAbility to work closely in a team environmentDemonstrated conflict management, organization, and time management skillsAbility to follow oral/written instructions and communicate effectively.Preferred Experience10+ years of work experience in Pharmacy/Supply Chain or related area is preferredEqual Employment OpportunityMoffitt Cancer Center is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
