We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) to join our leadership team. This role will be instrumental in shaping our organizational culture, enhancing employee engagement, and ensuring our HR practices align with our mission to support mental health and recovery.
Position Summary:
The VP of HR will provide strategic leadership and oversight of all HR functions, including recruitment, talent management, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development. This position will play a critical role in fostering a supportive workplace that attracts and retains top talent committed to our mission. The VP of HR is also a member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to organizational leadership.
The VP of HR is a Full Time hybrid role ( 3 consectutive days in office), located at 833 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19107. The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday during normal business operations. This position will have an annual salary range of $115,000 - $125,000.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies and set departmental priorities that align with the mission and goals of Mental Health Partnerships.Partner with executive leadership to identify workforce needs and develop innovative talent acquisition and retention strategies.Talent Acquisition and Management:
Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring a diverse and qualified candidate pool.Develops and administers programs, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the agency.Design onboarding and professional development programs that promote growth and skill development for all employees.Employee Relations and Engagement:
Cultivate a positive organizational culture that prioritizes employee well-being and engagement.Leads development of engaging All Staff Meetings and planning for these meetings.Address employee concerns and mediate conflicts while supporting managers to coach and support their staff to maintain a healthy and productive work environment.Performance Management:
Implement effective performance management systems that align with organizational objectives and enhance accountability.Provide training and support to managers on best practices for performance evaluation and feedback.Compliance and Policy Development:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Maintains knowledge of industry trends and best practices; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice and resources to upper management.Develop and maintain HR policies that reflect best practices, employment laws and regulations, and the organization's values.Compensation and Benefits:
Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure they are competitive and equitable.Regularly assess employee satisfaction with benefits and make necessary recommendations.Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):
Lead DEI initiatives that foster an inclusive workplace reflecting the communities we serve.Develop training programs that enhance cultural competence and awareness across the organization and foster open dialogue about equity and inclusion issues.Organizational Development:
Drive organizational change efforts that promote efficiency and enhance employee satisfaction.Conduct ongoing assessments to identify trends and areas for improvement and develop actionable plans.Advocacy and Community Engagement:
Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to advocate for mental health resources and services.Promote the organization's mission and values through employee engagement and outreach efforts.Other Duties:
Develops and monitors departmental budget.Participates as a member of the Executive team.Other duties as assigned to fulfill MHP's mission.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred, SHRM-CP preferred.10+ years of senior-level Human Resources Management and supervisory experience required.Active affiliation with appropriate HR networks and organizations.Experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly in mental health or social services, is highly desirable.Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to build relationships at all levels.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Commitment to integrity, diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.Effective project and process management skills as demonstrated from past work experience.Must possess basic computer skills to perform job duties including desktop computing, e-mail, time sheet management, reporting, internet research, etc. using relevant software such as HRIS and Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.***Effective November 15, 2021, all new employees will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before beginning employment with MHP.
