summary Tool & Die Maker 1st Shift Direct Hire Position! Mon-Friday 5am-1:30pm Essential Functions1. Work closely with Engineering to conceptualize the development and configuration of newproduction and solve technical problems.2. Interpret complicated specifications such as blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine thebest approach for machining, assembly, and sequence of operations to machine componentsand/or assemblies.3. Operate and set up machining equipment including lathes, milling machines, precision surfacegrinders, drills, presses, and cutoff equipment to accomplish tasks.4. Use expertise of production methods, limitations, available equipment, and requirements ofvarious materials to conceptualize tooling and select proper machines, feed rates, and cuttingspeeds.5. Use sole discretion to calculate machining dimensions based on finished part requirements.6. Perform preparation, positioning set up, and layout of raw stock.7. Maintain production readiness of existing production equipment and tooling.8. Produce parts to exacting tolerances with precision fits and validate these to the establishedrequirements. Verify dimensional accuracy, alignments, and clearances of finished parts.9. Support ongoing operation of equipment, dies, fixtures, and tooling by bringing wear items backinto to tolerance, custom making unavailable parts, and repairing damaged components.10. Meet all company work schedule and attendance expectations and perform within the physicaland environmental demands of the job, as described in Section E: Working Conditions. B. Additional Job Responsibilities 1. Estimate time to completion, record costs, and track job progress.2. Perform maintenance on all shop equipment to keep machines in safe and good condition.3. Communicate Heat Treating requirements to OSP and validate finished parts to specifications.C. Minimum Qualifications1. High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience2. 10+ years of experience as a Tool & Die Maker3. Able to work successfully without supervision4. Practice safe work habits and follow safety guidelines 5. Advanced competency with reading sketches and blueprints 6. Advanced competency with planning sequence of operations to complete projects7. Able to successfully work with other departments and communicate effectively8. Able to successfully run drill presses, lathe machines, milling machines, precision surfacegrinders, cutoff equipment, and hydraulic presses9. Have available personal hand tools required to perform job function10.
