Meteorologist , you'll primarily focus on weather forecasting. By providing easy-to-understand weather updates, you'll help our audience stay safe and informed. You'll be part of a collaborative team that creates compelling, timely, and accurate content to connect with viewers across traditional and digital platforms.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS
Required Qualifications
Experience : Experience forecasting and presenting weathercasts - 2+ years, working knowledge of TV weather graphics systemsEducation : Bachelor's degree in MeteorologyTechnical Skills : Knowledge of synoptic meteorology, tropical and radarSkills : Ability to anticipate situations, meet deadlines, and manage multiple prioritiesAbilities : Demonstrate enthusiasm in dealing with breaking newsTravel Ability : Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the communitySchedule : Ability to work different shifts or longer shifts due to 'breaking news' and severe weather emergencies. Willing and able to work weekends and holidaysPreferred Qualifications
National Weather Association (NWA) and/or the AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) sealWorking knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software, and basic non-linear editing systemsMay be required to lift up to five poundsWorking Conditions
Works inside a climate-controlled environment throughout the year, however will be assigned to field duties as necessaryWorks in an open newsroom setting with a semi-noisy environmentCommunicates in person, by phone, and by emailMaterials and equipment used: various studio, weather forecasting, and newsgathering television equipment, computers, and computer-related equipmentSPECTRUM NEWS CONNECTS YOU TO MORE
