Our client, a non-profit organ procurement organization (OPO) that facilitates organ and tissue recovery, is hiring Senior Director of Human Resources. This role is crucial in driving HR strategies that align with and support the organization's commitment to excellence in organ and tissue donation. As the Senior Director of Human Resources, you will lead the HR department in crafting and executing innovative human resource strategies that advance the organization's business and donation objectives. You will work closely with the Vice President of Human Resources (VPHR) and senior leadership to build a high-performance culture, enhance organizational effectiveness, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership :In tandem with VPHR, this role requires creative development and implementation of a comprehensive HR Strategy that supports the company's business and donation goals and objectives.Talent Management: Oversee talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies to build a high-performing workforce.Organizational Development :Drive organizational effectiveness through change management, leadership development and employee engagement initiatives.People Relations :Working closely with VPHR, this role will foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture by managing employee relations, resolving conflicts, and conducting workplace investigations.HR Operations: Ensure efficient and compliant HR Operations, including payroll, HRIS and recordkeeping.Risk Management: Identify and mitigate HR-related risks, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.Financial Management: Working closely with VPHR to manage the HR and Staff Workforce budget and provide financial analysis to support HR initiatives and recommendations.Team Leadership: Build and develop a high-performance HR department, building the team's capacity to deliver operational excellence and exceptional results.Participates as a member of the Senior Leadership Team in developing and achieving performance goals. Serves as back-up to the Vice President Human Resources.Assures compliance with all federal and state laws, including EEO and ADA. Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.Monitors and maintains the HR compliance program to safeguard the organization through awareness of legal and legislative trends and changes.Oversees recruitment, screening, hiring, and advertising and develops appropriate screening and selection methodologies for potential candidates.Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.Develops personnel policy and procedures for updating into Employee Handbook. Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, investigating employee complaints and fostering a positive work environment.Investigates and keeps confidential records of all incidents and complaints. Recommends corrective action. Reports appropriate incidents to the insurance carrier and agency's legal counsel as appropriate and assists with investigation and documentation of occurrences.Participates in the selection of all benefits programs (e.g. health insurance, pension funds, EAP, etc.). Administers benefits programs and conducts periodic benefits orientation for all staff, participating in the onboarding of new hires.Maintains all personnel records and files, including current copies of professional licenses, training files, and other necessary documentation for each employee and with accuracy.Maintains governance of performance appraisal system in LMS.Assess efficacy of performance management processes for continuous improvement.Trains Directors and Managers regarding human resource laws and critical issues in human resources management related to maintaining high performance work systems.Coordinates staff training with Learning and development team.Schedule: I n-office role wish WFH on Fridays.Must be able to commute to Long Island City, NYRequirements:
Bachelor's degree in related field.Master's degree preferred. PHR or SPHR preferred.10+ years managerial experience in human resources that includes all aspects of human resources. Previously held a director level role in HR.Previous management of staff and understanding of the healthcare industry is preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical skills and problem solving skills and experience with data analyticsMust have demonstrated ability to train, coach, and develop people, and to handle multiple tasks in a complex environment.Experience in OPO industry or healthcare workforce setting.Proven ability of leading HR functions in a complex, fast-paced environmentDemonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teamsSalary:
