The Mortgage Sales Assistant is responsible for supporting the mortgage lending process by assisting loan officers and clients in various administrative and operational tasks. This role is client centric with a sales role in relationship building with centers of influence.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Application Processing & File Management:

Assist in gathering and organizing borrower documentation required for mortgage applications, including income verification, credit reports, and property information.Communication:

Act as a liaison between borrowers, loan officers, processing, and other involved parties. Provide updates to borrowers regarding the status of their applications and any additional documentation needed.Data Entry:

Enter and update borrower information, loan details, and application status in the loan origination system and other relevant software platforms.Coordination:

Schedule appointments, meetings, and follow-ups with borrowers, real estate agents, and others involved in the loan process.Compliance:

Stay up to date with mortgage industry regulations and company policies to ensure all tasks and processes are in compliance. Help maintain proper documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.Problem Solving:

Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues that arise during the application and underwriting process. Escalate complex issues to the appropriate personnel.Customer Service:

Provide excellent customer service to borrowers by addressing their inquiries professionally and promptly, and by guiding them through the lending process along with deadline communication.Administrative Support:

Assist loan officers with administrative tasks such as managing calendars, preparing reports, and handling incoming calls and emails.Sales Support:

Occasionally attends networking events and coordinate sales activity. Provides support with sales and referral tracking within designated application.Complete required training associated with job function.Performs other related duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation/Experience:

Bachelor's degree preferred.2+ years of experience in retail, mortgage, banking, or customer service required.

Skills:

Ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality, integrity, and accuracy.Ability to prioritize, work with a high degree of confidentiality, integrity, and accuracy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Technology adaptability/able to work in several programs and portals.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with mortgage regulations and compliance standards.Customer-centric mindset and strong interpersonal skills.Problem-solving abilities and abilities to adapt to changing priorities.Adequate knowledge of policies and procedures with the respective state and federal laws and regulations departmental functions to ensure performance of individual job duties within the proper control environment.Meets the requirements of NMLS and Safe ACT.
