Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for compiling various financial information and reports for management use following all accounting principles and government regulations.
Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.Daily processing of sales orders including completeness review, material consumption, and sales tax application.Daily input of new job orders into ERP system.Processes and inputs transactions into ERP system.Maintains accounts receivable records, including customer files and sales tax resale/exemption forms.Performs credit checks on new customers.Responsible for customer collections.Interacts with customers and other departments to resolve questions and problems.Reconciles bank accounts, investigates discrepancies and makes corrections as necessary.Month end closing duties include account reconciliations, preparation of journal entries and report preparation.Prepares monthly sales tax returns.Compiles and prepares job cost and hours reportsPerforms special projects at the direction of the controller.Requirements
Education and Experience
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in accounting.Preferably 2 years of experience, willing to consider recent gradProficiency with Microsoft Office productsExperience with ERP system

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as account balances, appropriate tax, discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Other Qualifications
Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include a computer, calculator, and copier. Requires a working knowledge of spreadsheet software. Requires attention to detail. Requires knowledge of company products and accounting system.
