Chicago, IL . This role works closely with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and specialists to deliver projects to a variety of clients including

municipalities, counties, commercial and industrial entities.Job ResponsibilitiesBe involved in

Civil Engineering

related project aspects including

studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates . Projects may include planning, modeling, and design of facilities such as water and wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, pump stations, utilities (water transmission, gravity sanitary sewer mains, force mains, etc.), hydraulics and hydrology, drainage design, site plans, roadway, and other miscellaneous civil design projects.Ability to execute engineering best practices for

civil engineering

projects for a wide variety of clients, adapting to new environments quickly.Assist senior staff in the production of project plans, specifications, scheduling, budgeting, technical memorandums and cost estimatesAssist senior staff with construction management tasks such as material submittal reviews build reviews and coordination with ContractorsConduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection, compilation and assessment for infrastructure projectsEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, cities/clients, and other public agenciesQualifications:RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.0 to 3 years of related experience in municipal, state or land development engineeringActive Engineer in Training (EIT) certification for the state of Illinois required or in the process of completingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be flexible, well organized, accountable and dependablePhysically able to perform work in the fieldFrequent travel required. Must be willing to travel extensively within the US and Canada.PreferredExperience using computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents (examples include software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS)Demonstrated success in achieving scope, schedule, and budget goals.TRC is an equal opportunity employer: disability/veteran.
